The Golden Era of Havana Returns: Buena Vista Orchestra Announces 2026 European Tour

The soul of Havana is coming to Europe. The Buena Vista Orchestra, led by the legendary trombonist and original Buena Vista Social Club (BVSC) musical director Jesús "Aguaje" Ramos, has officially announced an extensive tour across Europe & UK for 2026. This landmark production brings together the living legends of the world-renowned Cuban collective alongside a powerhouse of contemporary masters to celebrate the rhythms that captured the world's heart.

A Legacy of Cultural Excellence
The original Buena Vista Social Club became a global phenomenon in the late 1990s, winning a Grammy and inspiring an Academy Award-nominated documentary. It revitalized interest in traditional Cuban music — son, bolero, and danzón — and remains the gold standard for Latin music worldwide. The Buena Vista Orchestra continues this historic tradition, preserving the authentic "Golden Sound of Havana" for a new generation.

The Guardians of the Tradition
The ensemble features a prestigious core of original members who performed on the legendary BVSC recordings and world tours:

Jesús "Aguaje" Ramos (Trombone/Vocals): The group’s musical director, Aguaje was a cornerstone of the original BVSC, the Afro-Cuban All Stars, and the solo projects of Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo and Rubén González.

Luis "Betún" Mariano Valiente Marín (Congas/Bongos): A master percussionist who provided the heartbeat for the ensemble’s most iconic tracks.

Fabián García (Bass): The veteran bassist whose deep, melodic grooves define the rhythmic foundation of the Cuban son.

Joining these icons is a "who's who" of contemporary Cuban talent, ensuring the orchestra's energy remains as fiery as ever:

Geidy Chapman (Lead Vocals): Regarded as one of Cuba's most versatile voices, she brings soul-stirring depth to every bolero and anthem.

Yuri Tejada Rodriguez (Vocals): A vibrant frontline presence who captures the energy and charisma of Havana’s modern music scene.

Lorena Ramos Díaz (Trombone / Vocals): A standout talent who brings a powerful female perspective to the brass section and lush vocal harmonies.

Jeyki Ramos (Violin): Following in the footsteps of his father (Aguaje), his violin adds the elegant, classical flair essential to the charanga and danzón traditions.

Maikel Ochao (Tres): A virtuoso of the tres, the iconic Cuban three-course guitar, delivering the intricate "mountain" soul of the guajira.

Amaury Tamayo (Trumpet): Providing the soaring, brilliant horn lines that are a signature of the "Golden Era" sound.

Andy Abad Acosta (Piano): A master of the syncopated montuno, keeping the tradition of the great Cuban pianists alive.

Antonio Rubio Borayo (Timbales / Percussion): A rhythmic force ensuring the drive and fire of the orchestra never falters.

Ivan Reyes Alfonso (Percussion): A vital force in the rhythm section, providing the complex, authentic layers of Cuban percussion that drive the ensemble's energy.

The European Tour 2026
The 2026 European tour will stop at some of the continent's most prestigious venues, covering no less than 48 dates in the whole continent. Fans can expect an evening of nostalgia and celebration, featuring timeless hits like "Chan Chan," "El Cuarto de Tula," and "Candela."
